The compost/burning site is located south of town --- follow Port Neal Road south, across the Interstate. The site is located on 225th Street. See below for hours of operation and Rules and Regulations.

Composting
PURPOSE. One purpose of this site is to promote the recycling of yard wastes through composting and to establish minimum regulations for proper use of this site.
DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this site, the following terms, with their descriptions, describe items that can be composted.
1. “Yard Waste” shall mean the organic waste produced from the growing, trimming, and removal of grass, bushes, shrubs, plants, leaves and garden debris.
EXEMPTIONS. Under a specific fee schedule, Yard Waste which comes from a specific commercial contractor will be accepted.
Burning
PURPOSE. One purpose of this site is to reduce the danger to public health, safety and welfare caused by uncontrolled open burning of materials within the City Limits.
DEFINITIONS. For the purpose of this site, the following terms, with their descriptions, describe items that can be burned.
1. “Yard Wastes” means organic debris such as tree limbs, bark and branches produced as part of a yard and resulting from maintenance activities.
EXEMPTIONS. Under a specific fee schedule, Yard Waste which comes from a specific commercial contractor will be accepted.
